What a weekend! We had an incredible, RECORD BREAKING two days at our 15th Mega Adoption Event. We matched a WHOPPING 1,141 dogs & cats with forever families across four states, setting a new benchmark for in-shelter Mega Adoption Events. Each number is a story, a dog or cat sleeping in a loving home tonight, and represents two lives saved as the adoption makes room for another animal in need.
Across our Brandywine Valley SPCA campuses and adoption locations, we matched 655 companions with their new families. At the Copeland Center for Animal Welfare in New Castle’s very first Mega, we celebrated 152 adoptions. Our Animal Rescue Center in Georgetown matched 67 companions with new families at its inaugural Mega Adoption Event.
Our ten participating partner shelters celebrated 486 Mega Adoptions over two days. We welcomed brand new Mega partners The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County in Maryland, who found a home for kitty Meatball, who waited 280 days to find Mega Love. The Humane Society of Harrisburg was another new partner and matched an amazing 102 companions with families, and even saw their front cat room emptied.
