Need help?

Our work is just as much about people as it is pets. We're here to help.

Help comes in many forms

Our work is about both pets and people. We're staunch advocates for the safety and quality of life of pets in our community. We feel just as strongly about helping people care for their pets. That could be helping to reunite lost pets with their families or helping during times of need with programs like our pet food pantry, behavior counseling and safekeeping for the pets of domestic violence.

How can we help?

Lost & found pets

Losing your furry friend or finding another’s beloved animal can be a very harrowing and emotional process.

Reporting animal cruelty

"See something, say something." Most cases of cruelty or neglect come to light when someone close to that animal makes a report.

Rehoming consultation

Sometimes emergencies happen, and families are forced to part with a pet. We can offer guidance and tips to help you find a new family for your dog or cat.

Pet food assistance

No one should have to part with their pet for financial reasons. Our pet food programs help pets stay with the families who love them.

Domestic violence survivors

We partner with local organizations to house the pets of domestic violence survivors as they transition to safety.

Behavior resources

Through our behavior team, we're able to offer free support to our adopters, foster families and pet owners seeking behavior assistance.

Have questions or need more help?

Give us a call or stop by one of our locations for more help.

4 in 10 animals are strays

We're one of the only remaining open-access shelters in the region and the only one in Delaware. That means we take lost/stray pets from our service areas regardless of age or condition. We're able to do that hard work with a 93% save rate.

Pay it forward, your free time has so much value

Getting involved, whether a little or a lot, can create positive change for the animals in our community.
