Supporting our community by providing the resources needed to improve the lives and well-being of animals is what we do.
Losing your furry friend or finding another’s beloved animal can be a harrowing and emotional process.
"See something, say something." Most cases of cruelty or neglect come to light when someone close to that animal makes a report.
No one should have to part with their pet for financial reasons. Our pet food programs help pets stay with the families who love them.
Through our behavior team, we're able to offer free support to our adopters, foster families and pet owners seeking behavior assistance.
Neighbors couldn’t take hearing this sweet pup being beaten in one of the other apartments and contacted our Animal Protective Services (APS) team. Our officers executed a search warrant, seized her, and charged the owner with animal cruelty. She weighed almost half her ideal weight, her skin was in poor condition, but even worse were the wounds inside. She winced, cowered and urinated from a life of being treated as a “bad dog.” Our APS team fought for her freedom for 241 days. During that time, two of our volunteers fostered her. They named her JoJo and worked hard to heal her heart and build her confidence. Along the way, they fell in love and made it official once our officers won her freedom.
That may seem like a big number, but every dog and cat in our care enjoys individual enrichment until adoption, such as our daily dog playgroups.
