WHATEVER YOU NEED, WE'RE HERE TO HELP
The BVSPCA supports the community with various resources for pet owners and lovers.
Lost & Found Pets
Losing your furry friend or finding another’s beloved animal can be a very harrowing and emotional process. At the Brandywine Valley SPCA, we do everything possible to ease the strain and make reuniting pets with their owners as smooth a process as possible.
Humane Euthanasia & Cremation
Our treasured friends bless our lives and give us more love than we ever knew possible. May fond memories of your four legged companion bring peace and comfort to you. The Brandywine Valley SPCA offers both low-cost euthanasia and cremation services for pets within our community. Our cremation packages are provided by Pet Memorial Services, a provider well versed in the process of pet loss.
Animal Protective Services
Our Animal Protective Services Division works diligently to investigate cruelty cases and rescue the animals involved in them. Without their intervention, many animals would be forced to endure abuse and neglect with no one to help them.
Domestic Violence Victims
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, pets no longer have to be a factor when making the choice to leave an abusive situation for residents of Delaware. The Brandywine Valley SPCA has teamed up with CHILD, Inc. and People’s Place, two Delaware domestic violence shelters, to provide victims of abuse free housing and care for their pets, as they transition to safety. Please contact the shelters directly on their hotline numbers regarding services:
- CHILD, Inc. Bilingual (Spanish/English) 302-762-6110
- People’s Place – English- 302-422-8058
- People’s Place – Spanish- 302-745-9874
At the Brandywine Valley SPCA, we understand that sometimes pets are surrendered into shelters not because of the lack of a loving home, but because that home has fallen under hardship. To help ease this circumstance, we offer Safety Net programs to lessen the number of pets unnecessarily surrendered to our shelter. These programs include Henry’s Cupboard (open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month between 9am-noon), Spay/Neuter and Wellness Services through Animal Health Center.
The Brandywine Valley SPCA offers phone, e-mail and on-site support for new adopters to ensure a smooth transition from our home to yours. It is incredibly important that we support our adopters during the transitional period and remain a resource for any and all behavioral needs that may arise.
