Animal Rescue Center

The ARC is a facility like few others in the country.

Saving lives

The Animal Rescue Center (ARC) opened in January 2019 to help animals needing extra support to reach adoption, such as cruelty survivors, disaster victims, newborns, and pets at risk of euthanasia in other shelters. This state-of-the-art 11,500 square foot facility on 13 acres in Georgetown can house as many as 250 animals at a time.

The ARC’s residents have included animals in need locally, nationally, and internationally. The day the center opened, we took in 44 dogs from a home in Dover. Recently, 56 cats rescued from deplorable conditions in a Middletown home had a place to recover and move on to find loving families. Survivors from shelters damaged in hurricanes Florence, Michael, Laura, and Ida all have had a bridge thanks to the ARC. And behavior program residents have included local cruelty cases to dogs rescued from Korean dog meat farms.

Eastern Shore Pet Resort

We secured and renovated the Animal Rescue Center thanks to generous donors. To help fund ongoing operations, we carved out a third of the facility to become a luxury pet resort. Eastern Shore Pet Resort gives pampered pets a getaway for daycare and boarding while supporting the important rescue work taking place at the ARC.

Daycare includes multiple playgrounds with tubes, tunnels, toys, and more. Private boarding can be tailored to your pet. Picture your pet meeting new friends in the play yards, taking a dip in the wading pool, or enjoying spa time with a bubble bath. Then the day wraps up with private in-suite tv, customizable treats, and one-on-one cuddle time.

When the going gets tough, #TeamBVSPCA gets going.

We believe in saving lives regardless of borders, especially during times of crisis. Our specialized skills make us a first phone call during natural disasters.
