Still recovering from Helene’s devastation, so many shelters in Florida are preparing for another historic storm. As we worry for the safety of so many in the path of Hurricane Milton, it’s time for us all to prepare to respond, and we need your help.
Our West Chester Campus will welcome more than two dozen cats fleeing Florida ahead of Milton’s landfall, but this is just the beginning. We’re proud to be the first call for many when disaster strikes, to take in animals already in shelters at the time of the storms, so local shelters can focus on recovery and reuniting pets separated in the storm with their families.
Now is the time to adopt to open space for this lifesaving mission. Through October 16, we are waiving adoption fees at all BVSPCA Campuses, Humane Society of Harrisburg Area and Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold, New Jersey for all large adult dogs and adult cats.

Stop by the location nearest you to welcome a furry companion into your home. Adopting one can save two lives by opening space for another animal in need.
We’re doing this work on top of our regular daily work to help lost and stray animals, cruelty victims, and pets needing rehoming. We need your support to help the homeless pets and people of Florida at this critical time. Make a donation to support this disaster relief work and consider welcoming one of these rescues into your home if you’ve been thinking about adopting.
We’ll keep you posted as the work evolves. We’re grateful to have you in our community as part of #TeamBVSPCA!
