It was heartbreaking to witness: nearly two dozen animals, mostly cats, along with two dogs—found living in horrible conditions in a home in Kent County, Delaware. The air was thick, the floors littered with debris. The unsanitary conditions told the story of these poor pets living for too many days without proper care.
It took several dedicated Delaware Animal Services officers hours to safely rescue each of these furry survivors from an environment plagued by filth and dangerous air quality, and transport them to the safety of our Animal Rescue Center.
Once they arrived, the healing began. Our veterinary and care teams welcomed them with soft voices, gentle hands, and the promise of something better. Each animal was examined, treated for medical issues, and given the promise of a new future.
Now, these resilient souls are at the start of a new beginning—a life filled with love. But they can’t get there without you. Their journey from suffering to safety is only possible with the help of compassionate people like you.
Your support provides food, medicine, and the healing space for animals in desperate need. It provides resources for these 20+ souls and the more than 55 each day who walk through our doors in need of care, support, kindness, and a place to stay until their new life can begin.
