Giving Tuesday 2025

Double the impact for the most vulnerable, like Felix.

Felix was found wandering alone, his frame barely holding 20 pounds of himself, less than half the weight he should have been. His hips and legs were covered with wounds. His story is one of hardship, hunger, and far too many nights spent simply trying to survive.

Our team gave him a name that means lucky and fortunate when he entered our care, but it was touch and go. Survival wasn’t guaranteed. Hope, however, was. Felix still had a spark in him, however small, that said he wasn’t done fighting. And so we fought with him.

Twice a day, for weeks, our medical team, staff, and some dedicated volunteers stepped in with bandage changes, medication, and careful wound treatment. They built an eating plan designed to help his body remember how to grow strong again. They sat beside him, talked to him, encouraged him. Little by little, Felix began to return. A pound gained. A brighter look in his eyes. A tail that started to lift.

Today, Felix weighs 40 pounds, and the transformation is remarkable. His wounds have healed. His spirit has returned. And according to Dr. Moon, his survival is the direct result of a small army of staff and volunteers who poured hours of love, medical care, and patience into a dog who deserved every bit of it.

This is what no paws left behind looks like. We’ll care for more than 25,000 animals this year. Because of you we can help those, like Felix, who need long-term care. You give us the support we need to say yes to cases that take time, resources, and patience.
Thanks to a generous $30,000 match, every gift made today will be doubled, providing twice the medical care, twice the healing, twice the hope for animals like Felix. Please give today and double your impact for pets like Felix.

Scout's Story

This Giving Tuesday, Scout reminds us what love can repair.

Scout arrived carrying more than her tiny share of struggle. Born with a congenital eye disorder and found as a stray on the streets of our nation’s capital with eyes so badly infected they couldn’t be saved, she needed urgent help.

Our dedicated medical team performed surgery and carefully guided her through recovery.

And when she was ready, Scout pressed on—paws forward, nose lifted, learning her new world without sight and reminding us that bravery can be small, soft, and only three months old.

Then Scout caught the attention of someone special, and they didn’t see what Scout had lost, but everything she still had to give. Now she’s living her forever, purring loudly, offering perfect head-butts, and filling her new home with joy.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift ensures pets like Scout receive the individualized care they need. Today, thanks to a generous $30,000 match, every dollar you give is doubled — helping twice as many pets move into a life free from pain and full of possibility.

Give today. Double your impact. Change a life.

Button's Story

Button arrived at our Harrisburg campus, Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, a handsome Boxer with a spirit that wanted to keep up with the world around him. But his body couldn’t. Both of his CCLs — the ligaments in the knees that let dogs run and jump, were torn.

For Button every step was painful. Our dedicated medical team had to make a choice. Traditional surgery was an option, but not a good one. Boxers often struggle with that path, and for Button, it could have meant a difficult recovery with no guaranteed relief. So the team chose something different — something full of possibility.

Button was taken to our New Castle Campus where our team collected stem cells from him, and used them to treat both of his knees. A treatment designed not just to avoid surgery, but to give him a chance at a pain-free life. And just as importantly, the stem cells that weren’t needed immediately were stored away, should Button ever need support later in life. Button is currently in foster living like a real dog and waiting for his forever home.

Button reminds us of the lengths we all go to keep our pets from hurting — lengths that you make possible. We care for more than 25,000 homeless pets each year, each with needs as unique as Button. Because of you, we’re able to meet them where they are, offering comfort, healing, and hope.

Otis' Story

Today is Giving Tuesday — and your gift can go twice as far for pets like Otis.

When Otis arrived, his body told the story of years of neglect. He was underweight, his skin raw and infected from untreated scabies, his nails long and curled. But his soft eyes told a different story — one of quiet resilience and hope.

After being rescued by our Animal Protective Services team, our medical staff stepped in immediately. They built a careful feeding plan to help him gain weight safely and began the long process of treating his painful skin infection. It has taken months of steady, compassionate care — but every day, Otis grows stronger, more comfortable, and a little closer to the dog he was meant to be.

Otis is just one of more than 25,000 pets we’ll help this year. Some need only a few days with us. Others, like Otis, need weeks or months of specialized treatment before they’re ready for their second chance.

And we’re able to be there for pets like Otis in their time of need because of you.

Today, thanks to a generous $30,000 match, every dollar you give is doubled — providing twice the healing, twice the hope, and twice the lifesaving care for animals like Otis.

Kai and the 100 Survivors' Story

This Giving Tuesday your impact for animals like Kai can be doubled today. 💜💜

Nearly 100 animals were rescued from deplorable conditions in New Castle County. Our team, alongside Delaware Animal Services, stepped in to give them urgent medical care, safety, and the compassion they had been missing for far too long.

Among them was Kai — a beloved dog whose owner was working in Africa, trusting his pup was being cared for. When he saw Kai among the rescued animals, he contacted us immediately and rushed home to bring him back where he belonged.

Many of the survivors have since been adopted or reunited with their families. Others, like Boris, Nickelbark, and Arf Garfunkel, are still in our care, ready for their fresh start at life. And they’re depending on all of us to help them take the next step.

Your support makes reunions like this possible.

Your generosity gives them treatment, warmth, and the chance to begin again. And today, every dollar you give will be matched, doubling the care and hope you provide.

Nini's Story

On Giving Tuesday, join us for the biggest day of giving to help pets like, Nini.

Nini came to us as a 3-week-old puppy in need of medical care after being rescued from deplorable conditions by our Animal Protective Services team. She was suffering with ulcers on her eyes that left them too damaged to save and needed to be removed, but with the help of our medical team and the care of a dedicated foster home, Nini was able to heal, grow and find furever with a loving family.

On Giving Tuesday, we’ll be sharing even more stories of resilience and showing how your generosity transforms the lives of homeless pets in need, just like Nini.
