Do More 24: Delaware's Giving Day

We are proud and excited to participate in this years Do More 24 Delaware's Giving Day to highlight our work as a transformative community resource, as well as the First States only open-access shelter caring for lost and stray dogs and cats. Your support helps us do more for Delawares animals and the community of people who care for them, and again this year, you can double your impact! Do More 24 Delaware is a one-day giving campaign across the state that starts at 6 pm on Thursday, March 6, and runs until 6 pm on Friday, March 7. Follow the link below to donate or start your own fundraiser to support our work and get ready for this special day. All donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, for this 24-hour fundraising event as you help fund our lifesaving mission.

GIVE NOW

Its time to Do More 24! Over the next 24 hours, all donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, during Delawares statewide day of giving, as you help fund our lifesaving mission for pets like Luna.

Luna was a mom just trying to survive. But in a neglectful home, she didnt stand a chance. Her puppiesAlpha, Beta, and Charliewere taken from her too soon and left in a hot room, struggling without her. When we got the call, we moved quickly to get them out. Reuniting Luna with her puppies was what this family needed. For the first time in too long, Luna could care for them the way she was meant to.

With the help of a loving foster home, they finally had the space to heal. Luna learned what it meant to feel safe, and her puppies grew with love instead of neglect. Now, every single one of them has found a home of their own. But there are so many mothers like Luna, some with new litters, some pregnant and needing a safe space to deliver. Your support makes it possible for us to step in when no one else will. Donate today and help us change more lives just like Luna and her puppies.

A small, curious, and very fluffy kitten found herself in a situation she couldnt get out of. Little Avocado got stuck on a fence, and in her struggle to break free, she badly injured her leg. By the time she came to us, the damage was too severe to repair. Our medical team, led by Dr. Sheri Wood, made the difficult decision to remove her broken leg, ensuring she could have a pain-free future. After surgery, Avocado went into a foster home to recover and learn how to navigate her bright new world on three legs.

Without the resources to handle urgent medical cases like hers, Avocados story could have ended differently. Today, on Delawares Giving Day, we ask for your support so we can continue providing lifesaving care to pets who need critical medical intervention.

Today is the last day to double your impact. All donations until 6PM will be matched, helping more pets like Puff!

Puff got his name because when he was found, his face was so swollen that he was hardly recognizable. Less than 6 months old at the time, Puff was found lying in a ditch on the side of the road, covered in deep lacerations. He needed urgent medical care and, just as importantly, time to heal. With no way to know what he had endured, Puff had to enter a state-mandated wound quarantine. For many dogs, this isolation in a shelter can be a setback, but thanks to our dedicated foster community, Puff didnt have to wait alone. A foster, who also happens to be a skilled dog trainer, welcomed him into her home.

During his time in foster care, Puff proved just how resilient he was. Despite everything, he was a quick learnersmart, funny, affectionate, and surprisingly well-mannered for his age. As his wounds healed, so did his spirit. When his quarantine ended, he was finally ready for his future, which he found with one of BVSPCAs lifesaving staff members. But there are countless animals like Puff still waiting for their second chance. By donating today, youre giving them the medical care, time, and love they need to heal just like Puff.

Another big brown dog the world had overlookeduntil the day everything changed for Kofe. He came to us with massive facial injuries after a brutal attack and scarring from past injuries. With urgent medical care and plenty of love, he slowly started to heal. He learned to trust that he was finally safe and he didnt have to be afraid anymore.

Then, at our Mega Adoption® event, one of the countrys biggest adoption events, Kofes perfect match found him. His new family didnt see just another big brown dogthey saw Kofe ready to love and be loved. Now, Kofe is finally home. Hes a chunky couch potato now, his adopter says. But he loves to be outside, run around, and play with my other two dogs.

Your support makes stories like Kofes possible. You are the reason EVERY pet, regardless of age, breed, size or unique needs, gets a second chance.

This is the LAST hour that all donations toward our lifesaving mission will be matched, dollar for dollar on this statewide day of giving. Your support transforms lives, and by donating today you DOUBLE the number of futures you touch.  Help us continue to do more for pets like Kofe.
