What a weekend! We had an incredible two days at our 21st Mega Adoption® Event powered by Petco Love. Families braved the cold and snow to help us match 943 dogs, cats and other animals with forever homes across three states and the nation’s capital.
Behind each and every number is a story, and represents two lives saved as each adoption makes room for another animal in need. Our participating shelter partners celebrated 106 Mega-matches, and across our Brandywine Valley SPCA campuses and adoption locations, we matched 837 companions with their new families.
Four of our new locations celebrated their first, ever Mega Adoption® Events - our Lancaster Dog Adoption Center, Everyday Adoption Center in Dover and two new locations in Washington, D.C.
Congratulations to our teams at our DC Village and New York Avenue locations in Washington, D.C. for making 92 Mega matches in their very first Mega Adoption® Event. 63 dogs, cats and a rabbit found forever homes at our brand new DC Village campus, including longest resident dog Melody, who’s foster officially adopted her after 310 days in our care. Our team at the New York Avenue campus celebrated 29 Mega matches. We are so grateful to bring this lifesaving event to the nation’s capital.
