Join us in celebrating a MEGA Success!
This weekend, we are celebrating 1,290 adoptions as so many pets found the families they've been waiting for. As these dogs, cats, puppies and kittens settle into their new homes after a weekend of Mega matches, our hearts couldn't be fuller.
Our Mega Adoption® Event, supported by Best Friends, is more than the largest adoption event in the country, bringing together 1,000+ adoptable pets under one roof, it’s a lifesaving experience. For two incredible days, hundreds of volunteers, staff, and partners united behind one shared mission: saving lives and creating families. We witnessed tears of joy, unforgettable connections, and countless perfect matches as pets found the second chances they deserve.
While over a 1,200 shelter pets found loving homes at our Mega Adoption® Event this weekend, many came back to our shelters and are still waiting for their second chance.
To help these companions find the families they deserve, we're extending the Mega Love with $0 adoption fees for ALL PETS through Sunday, June 28 at all BVSPCA adoption locations across Pennsylvania, Delaware and Washington, DC, as well as the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area in Central Pa, and Animal Adoption Center in New Jersey. There's still time to find a little heartbeat at your feet!
If your home is already full of furry family members or you simply want to give a second chance to a deserving companion. Consider donating to support the animals still in our care while we work to match them with their future families. Every dollar gives hope, every gift creates second chances, and every act of kindness helps a shelter pet's journey home. Donate today!
After spending far too long waiting for his happily-ever-after at our New Castle campus, Gage got the ending he deserved during Day 2 of our Mega Adoption® Event. Gage had been enjoying life in a foster home while he searched for a family, but somewhere along the way, his fosters realized they couldn't imagine life without him. They officially adopted him and made him a permanent member of the family. We couldn't be happier for this lovable long-timer, who finally traded his shelter journey for a lifetime of love, couch cuddles, and belonging.
At almost 13 years old, Lucy lost her home when her owner needed to enter assisted living. Despite being left in a shelter, Lucy maintained her sweet spirit - enjoying lounging on the lap of volunteers and staff, getting pets, brushed, and snuggling up in a comfortable bed. This deserving senior found her home at Mega in Harrisburg. Not only does Lucy get to enjoy her golden years with her new family, but she also has a new sibling, also adopted at Mega: a two-year-old female named Rey!
