It’s Back to School season, and that means our Pet Photo Contest is in full swing, adopt your new best friend with waived fees next weekend, and don’t miss out on our Forget-Me-Not Gala. Let’s save lives while having some fall fun! Here are some pawsome ways to help animals in need.
Saturday, September 6, join us as we aim to Clear the Shelters. We're waiving all adoption fees, for all animals, all day. Led by NBCUniversal Local and sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition, Clear The Shelters has helped more than 1 million animals find furever homes nationwide. Join us for the special Clear the Shelters adoption events at our Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey locations.
In addition to Clear the Shelters, we are joining animal shelters and rescues across the country to participate in the ASPCA’s Rescue Effect campaign to raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption and place more animals into loving homes. Thanks to our Rescue Effect grant, we will be offering WAIVED adoption fees on September 6 at our adoption centers in Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Washington, D.C. and ALL adoption locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. on Sunday, September 7. That means a full weekend of waived fees at all adoption locations!
Calling all photogenic furry friends! Submit the best photo of your adorable sidekick for a chance at a professional photo shoot and feature as one of our 2026 calendar pets! Our Winning 1st Place Pet will be featured as the 2026 Cover Pet, plus they will be given the choice of their featured month in the calendar. 2nd - 12th Place Pets will be highlighted with one of the 12 months in the calendar.
Don’t miss the chance to travel to Paris and be dazzled by delectable dishes, spirited libations, spectacular entertainment, meet adorable adoptable pets, enjoy live music, and participate in our premiere silent and live auction, all to help save lives at our Forget-Me-Not Gala. Can't attend in person? Bid on our silent auction from home! The Forget-Me-Not Gala silent auction is also available online. Bidding starts at 9 a.m. the day of the event, and closes that evening. You can register in advance by clicking the Register Now button and sign up as a virtual silent auction bidder, then check your email for the receipt to make sure you are ready to bid!
Feeling Lucky!? Support our lifesaving mission with our Winner’s Choice Raffle. Beat the odds with a 1 in 750 chance to be whisked away to far-off lands, or opt for the $5,000 cash prize. Winner chooses, and does not need to be present at the Forget-Me-Not Gala.
