Giving Tuesday - Brandywine Valley SPCA

A leader in humane law enforcement once said the victims of cruelty often have the sweetest souls because they keep hoping for love despite their conditions. That’s Gabriel. Despite suffering prolonged cruelty and neglect, Gabriel adores everyone he meets, greeting them with wiggles and wags.

Gabriel arrived at our shelter with a deep skull wound from an axe blow and a fractured jaw. He was emaciated, severely dehydrated and had a low body temperature. He later presented corncobs and a plastic bag that he must’ve ingested trying to survive.

Gabriel required outside emergency services to stabilize him. With our new Intensive Care Unit (ICU), we’d save precious transport time by treating Gabriel right on campus. And the ongoing monitoring that required him to be brought to and from work each day by a vet tech fostering him could happen right at the shelter.

Time and resources matter to saving shelter pets in critical condition like Gabriel. Plus the cost savings for outside emergency services can be routed to helping more animals.

Help us build our ICU with a donation on Giving Tuesday. Your gift will be doubled by a generous donor, up to $50,000. That means every $1 donated becomes $2 towards our ICU.
