Volunteer

Work closely with staff to meet all the needs of our adorable adoptable pets, including training, exercising, grooming, and other enriching activities.

Is your child interested in volunteering? If they're between 8 and 12 years of age, they can join our junior volunteer program. After the child and chaperone or guardian (18 years+) have both submitted volunteer applications and attended an orientation session, the volunteer fun begins. Junior volunteers can tag along as you help out and participate in activities such as puppy socialization, kitten socialization, grooming, and reading to companions under your supervision.

Take adoptable shelter animals to participating pet stores, local community events, or other Brandywine fundraisers. While at these locations, talk to customers and attendees about our available pets and the Brandywine Valley SPCA. In order to participate, you must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle.

We're fortunate to have businesses whose staff enjoy coming to the shelter for service days. They help keep our shelter clean and organized while giving love to our animals along the way. Can your corporate team lend a paw? Click below to schedule a service day.

Have a knack for computers, data entry, filing, or organizing? Want to help with mailings to our supporters? Consider helping out in our shelters or with our office staff. This is a great opportunity for folks who want to help from home, maybe can't spend time with the animals, or want to apply professional skills.

Help us capture all of our shelter pets' unique quirks through photography. Your photographs will be used to help catch adopters' eyes through our website and social media. Professional photographers or serious hobbyists are encouraged to join our photography team. (Photographers need to provide their own camera.)
