We’re excited to share an important update! In addition to adoptions, starting Tuesday, November 4th, all public services, including lost & found pets, animal care and control, fostering, as well as wellness, spay & neuter, and community cat services at our low-cost Animal Health Center, will transition to the new DC Village campus. Located at 4 DC Village Lane in Southwest, the facility replaces the District’s decades-long running facility on New York Avenue in Northeast.

The nearly 30,000 square foot campus offers amenities for adoptable animals, family pets and the community. Highlights include:

• In-house shelter ICU to treat shelter animals that currently go for outside emergency care
• Nearly 10,000 square foot clinic space for veterinary care for family and shelter pets
• Large surgical space which expands our spay/neuter capacity
• Advanced in-house diagnostic equipment, including x-ray, ultrasound, and blood testing abilities
• New specialty surgery capabilities for shelter pets & family pets, including dental cleanings
• Expanded dog & cat housing capacity
• Indoor & outdoor dog play yards
• Large community room for humane education & service groups

The adoption center is open Tuesday - Friday, 12 - 7 pm, Saturday & Sunday, 11 am- 5 pm. Animal Health Center visits and surgeries are by appointment and can be scheduled by calling us at (202) 888-VETS. Plan your visit to see this amazing new resource for our community!
