Looking for a very rewarding adoption experience? Geralt needs your help. He was found as a stray with matted fur and great difficulty walking. He will need a special adopter, due to his health and related behavior issues. He's about 8 and under 20 lbs. He has arthritis in his hind legs. He is on pain meds and can walk but tends to get around the house using his front legs with the hind legs dragging and out to the side. He follows his foster dad around the house and usually is fine with being pet but can be irritable - either from pain or in anticipation of it. He won't let you pick him up or put a jacket on him to go outside. He's never bitten but he will warn you off by baring his teeth and growling to let you know to stop. Please listen to him. He's house trained, easy to leash up and walk and takes treats gently. He has a good appetite. A home with no stairs would be ideal - he can do stairs but sometimes struggles and cries as he works his way up (and you can't help by carrying him). He is a very good companion and wants to be with his person but must be handled with care not to hurt him. We recommend a home with no children. Geralt is a great dog, he just needs the right family to love. If you have room in your heart and your home, please come and meet him.
