Frijoles is the sweetest pup who's favorite things are snacks, snuggles, and snoozes! He came in as an extremely emaciated stray. He is ready to leave that life behind and join his forever family!
In only one week, he has learned to settle himself in the crate and is doing great with house training (only two accidents in the first 24 hours, and then not another since!). He had a mid morning and afternoon quick walk/potty break, but stayed in his crate otherwise during the work day so he should be able to adjust to any in-office work schedules that future adopters have! He will immediately snuggle up to any and every person he meets and has not displayed any reactivity to other dogs while out on walks (his kennel cough has required him to keep a distance from any potential friends so far). Each day he begins to get more comfortable and show more of his personality, but at his core, he is a cuddle bug who just wants to be with his people. If you let him, he will even sleep as close as possible to you in bed at night! As long as you stay in bed with him, he loves to sleep in on the weekends! Frijoles walks very well on a leash, though if there is any street food he will find it, so a watchful eye is needed. He will let you take the offending item out of his mouth, but he isn't going to make it easy for you. If there is a treat involved, he is quick to learn. He knows sit, and with a few more days of practice, he will fully know "down" and "stay." His food motivation and eagerness to please makes him very trainable. Even when he is nervous, like during bath time, he is very docile. That's even more notable because he has sores on his paws that have not healed yet and he still lets his foster handle them to clean them. Overall, Frijoles would make a wonderful addition to any family. His future family will be so lucky to bring him home!
